My professional journey has been an adventure spanning almost 27 years, working at leading global financial services organisations in India, Singapore and the United States.
My career began as a Developer and transitioned into the realm of business intelligence. I have gained invaluable experience in project deliveries and account management across many technological domains and platforms. From leading technology teams to delving into product ownership, I’ve had the opportunity to work on monolith modernisation, data migration and large-scale transformations, offering me a chance to navigate complex data landscapes and global rollouts. As a Product Owner for an authentication platform, I encouraged agile tools and ways of working that empowered my team to manage their backlogs, make decisions and maximise product value.
As I transition into my role, I bring with me a depth of experience and a passion for innovation that I hope to bring to Lloyds Technology Centre. I'm excited to embark on this new chapter and continue my journey of growth and learning in the dynamic world of technology.
I joined for the exciting opportunity it presented as a greenfield initiative, and I was intrigued by the prospect of being among the first 500 colleagues in a brand-new startup. Moreover, the leadership of our CEO Sirisha Voruganti played a significant role in my decision. Having experienced her leadership before, I have confidence in her ability to steer Lloyds Technology Centre in the right direction.
I see immense potential in our growth and success, and my background has provided me with valuable insights and skills that I believe will be instrumental in shaping that journey. I'm particularly excited about the opportunity to foster a culture of collaboration and partnership to achieve a common goal.
In terms of execution, my objective is clear: to harness India’s abundance of talent and channel it towards realising our ambitions. I’m excited to drive the cloud journey across all business units by developing and positioning world-class solutions in the market. I also look forward to leveraging my experience in authentication technologies such as ForgeRock to create seamless authorisation processes and mitigate risks effectively.
The values here personally resonate with me. As we aspire to lead the fintech journey in India, I'm particularly passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion, especially regarding women in tech. While India has made strides in this area, there's still a gap in seeing women ascend to significant leadership positions, especially as they progress in their careers. Often, personal commitments and family responsibilities lead to a drop-off in female representation at higher levels, and this is something we need to address. Sustaining and nurturing careers, especially during critical stages like transitioning into team lead roles, requires bold decisions and inclusive policies.
I also feel invested in ensuring that individuals with disabilities, such as autism or hearing impairments, have equal opportunities and support to thrive in their careers. We need to be bold in supporting colleagues through tough times. Some colleagues might be great at coding, but they might not be able to communicate in the way one would expect other team members to. I strongly believe in the need to make all colleagues feel included and heard.
I aspire to lead, not just as a woman, but as the head of engineering, taking on its full responsibilities. I encourage my teams to give their all, as the more they invest, the more they'll gain. We have a unique blend of a startup mindset, a prestigious heritage and strong financial backing, giving colleagues the opportunity to surpass expectations for themselves and the organisation. It’s a springboard for growth, a perfect opportunity to make something big out of your career. There's so much to aspire to, and these initial steps will really shape the ultimate journey.
I have two grown up kids - a boy and a girl - now off to college. My husband and I have a lively companion in our beautiful Doberman, who keeps us on our toes.
Here, we encourage everyone to partake in their varied interests not only through work, but also outside work. It is very important for me to keep myself busy through a range of hobbies and interests. I'm a passionate baker, cook and gardener. I also find solace in reading, meditation, and spirituality. On weekends, you'll often find me surrounded by friends, my support system outside of work, keeping me sane and grounded no matter what challenges come my way.
To balance the demands of work and personal life, staying active and healthy is important to me. As a fitness enthusiast, I make it a priority to incorporate exercise into my routine.
What excites me most about being here is the opportunity to build and shape teams. It feels like we're moulding something that’s still taking shape. I'm eager to play a part in that process, to be on the green field of possibilities. I envision our future teams delivering cutting-edge technology solutions for Lloyds Banking Group, and that prospect is incredibly motivating.
